First New Development in Decades Brings Waterfront Amenities to Historic Fort Langley

The completion date ties in with Translink's new Golden Ears Bridge, a six-lane bridge over the Fraser River at 200th Street that will connect Surrey and Langley with Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.  The Golden Ears Bridge, which is also scheduled for completion in 2009, will not only serve as a community connector for Fort Langley, but also give the village residents access to a planned stop of the West Coast Express.

At present, there are 840 households in Fort Langley.  Over the next three years, the Bedford Landing development will introduce an additional 378 homes to the area.

"Fort Langley has been a desirable place to live for more than 100 years and this new development will add a whole new generation of residents who will be able to experience the history, artistry, culture and beauty in this new communty," says Rich Coleman, MLA for Fort Langley-Aldergrove.  "ParkLane Homes is to be commended for its vision and the work it is doing in building this new development for the people of Fort Langley and the people of British Columbia."

Bedford Landing will represent the very best of ParkLane's development work.  The community will be designed to feel like it was built out over time with striking streetscapes featuring classic Arts & Crafts architecture, heritage-based color schemes and carefully placed landscaping and fencing.  Inside, the homes will include modern luxury finishings, contemporary floorplans and intelligent upgrade options.  Key locations in the community will feature 'iconic' homes, some representing the look of an early 1900's farmhouse or estate home.

"Bedford Landing will really enhance this community and I am really excited to see it start to take shape," says Langley Township mayor Kurt Alberts, a resident of Fort Langley.  "We know that Fort Langley is one of the most desireable places to live in the Fraser Valley and now Bedford Landing gives people the opportunity to own a new home here."

ParkLane Homes' downtown sales centre will open on Mavis Avenue this summer and more information including a video on the development is available at  A complete showhome village will be built for display and sales will start in early fall 2006.

ParkLane Homes has been recognized with over 200 provincial and national awards for its outstanding design, construction and service excellence.  The company has built over 5,000 homes since 1980 and has grown to become one of the largest and most recognized residential developers in BC with a commitment to building excellence in every detail.
